Field Trips / Immersion Program

With UP professors as their guides, students experience aspects of Philippine life through diverse destinations-- historical sites, museums, factories, and villages. Students shall walk through the architectural legacies of colonial rule, interact with Angono painters, Laguna woodcarvers, and Cordillera weavers, and bear witness to the plight of workers and landless peasants. By immersing themselves in farmers', workers', urban poor and traditional communities, students develop an understanding of life experiences that shape the field of Philippine studies.
