Offerings
The lectures have been
designed to help students develop a critical understanding
of the comprehensive and particular areas of Philippine Studies.
Such comprehensive knowledge aims to provide the social context
for language learning, and lays the foundation for connecting
Philippine problems and global issues. Among the twenty-two
(22) topics to be discussed by scholars and specialists are
history, economy, political and social systems, education,
culture, mass movement, women, media, literature, theater,
music, arts, health, science and technology, Southeast Asian
relations, globalization and migration. A synthesis session
aims to integrate the areas within a nationalist-internationalist
Philippine studies framework.
The speakers are
still subject to change depending on availability. Speakers
will be confirmed by the end of July.
